Colour: Silvery-white
Ductility: It is very soft and ductile. Malleability: Can be rolled into a thin sheet. Density: 11.72g/cubic centimeter, it has 232 as the atomic mass, but it also has 179 (not in cubic centimeters) as the radius, which makes it much dense as compared with the other metals, such as Calcium, which is at 1.55. Melting point: 1750 °C. Both the Melting point and boiling point differs from the other metals in the Actinides, due to irregular results that cannot differentiate by atomic radius. Boiling point: 4820°C . Connects with the previous point. Ionization Energy: 6.3067, due to the shielding effect, there was not a lot of ionization energy needed to remove the electrons. The first ionization energy starts off as little, but the second ionization energy requires more, since it is closer to the stable octet. Click on picture for clearer look. Electronegativity: 1.3, it has a bigger atomic radius (on the top picture), which is farther away from the nucleus, therefore, has less tendency of attraction, so the electronegativity level is medium. |
